CAPE MINSTRELS
This historical event, dating back to the 19th century is celebrated yearly from 30 Dec to 2 Jan. Celebrating freedom the Cape Minstrels, dressed in their colorful costumes, parade the streets with brass bands not far behind. Starting in Rose Street, Bo Kaap, the Minstrels, also known as the “Kaapse Klopse” march the 7km route to the Greenpoint Stadium where the party continues. Experience this unique-to-Cape Town event for free.

V&A WATERFRONT FIREWORK DISPLAY
The V&A Waterfront is one (If not the most) visited spot in Cape Town. Enjoy some grub at the food trucks and watch street performers and live musicians while you wait for the countdown to the new year and spectacular firework shows to welcome 2018.
